Reviews

Women's Cumberland™ Boot is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 71.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buffalonian Traveler I'm 5'8" Tall thin build with long thin feet. I purchased these boots for Iceland this October and perhaps Alaska in the future and well I live in Buffalo NY, enough said. Like the reviews I would agree getting a half size bigger is a good idea inorder to have room for socks. I very between a 9, 9 1/2, and 10 in shoes/boots so I ordered the 10. While I have not tested them in winter conditions the 10 did fit and I believe there was room in the toes if I chose a thicker sock. The boot felt light, sturdy, and comfy. It was a slim fit..so something to keep in mind for people with wider feet and ankles. One thing I did note though there appears to be a little false advertising. I chose these specifically over another pair because they were rated online for -40 F (important to me for any future winter adventures I might want to take) However, when I got the boot in the mail the tag attached to the boot said -25-32 rated which I was a little disappointed in. However I haven't actually tested them yet so we'll see.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exactly as Needed I wanted a boot that I could wear walking through the woods or walking the playground in the winter while working and these are the perfect boots for just that. I love the way they fit. I would recommend these to everyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fit is perfect Unfortunately, the weather has turned warm, so I can't test how insulated these boots are or how comfy my toes are, but the fit is perfect. And they look very cute, too. I hope they are as warm as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from warm and comfortable Ordered 1/2 size up from street shoe. They fit perfectly with a thick sock. Warm and comfortable. Great for Wyoming winter dog walking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great boots I LOVE these boots. Read the reviews and bought them 1/2 size bigger & they fit great, easy on, easy off, Great traction. Had a slippery winter in New England & never had an issue with these boots. HIGHLY recommend them. They are warm too, which isnt always easy to find the right combo of size, comfort & warmth.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Feet get wet I bought these boots while I was in Alaska several years ago... They work okay, but my feet get wet every time I wear them. The description does say they're not water proof, but they even get wet when I'm not in snow! Not sure what the deal is. Tried to purchase a different pair of Sorel's and they were huge, so I returned them, even though I ordered them in my size. Not sure what the deal is but it's disappointing to say the least :/

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Freezing feet I walk my dog every day, all year around. We live in Ma so we get our winters. The boots keep your feet dry but there's no insulation around your feet, only ankles and lower calf. So my feet would FREEZE ALL WINTER!!! I do not recommend these boots, at all!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best snow boots I've ever owned!!! I'm a fifth generation Coloradan, having lived through 54 winters/springs/falls here. After owning numerous snow boots that failed to keep my feet warm, dry, and lacking adequate tread,I finally splurged and purchased the Turtle Dove Cumberlands. They are AMAZING! March and April are Colorado's snowiest months. Just had 22" of heavy, wet snow this past weekend, with hours of shoveling along with 3 inches of slush underneath the snow. My feet stayed warm and dry, and never slipped once! Thrilled with these boots: I call them snow tires on my feet! They're very feminine, pretty boots with incredible comfort. Not clunky at all!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect! These boots are excellent! They are extremely comfortable and well made, and so warm! The only downfall was the width. They were true to size length wise, but far to narrow for my feet unfortunately. I have slightly wide feet, but not to wide, so I had really hoped they were going to fit... Maybe because the rubber shell isn't very giving. I was surprised too that the Tofino's were reviewed as being narrow, but those fit my feet just fine! I'm a 1/2 size up with those though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome boots! I didn't know these boots had padding around the ankles when I ordered them. It was wonderful! Especially on my previously broken ankle. Kept my feet warm as promised! Love them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very cold Very cold boots. My feet were freezing, even in wool socks. Had to switch to Uggs during a ski trip. Will be returning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, sturdy winter boots Excellent for freezing, slushy, icy NY winters. They do fit slightly small - I'm normally a solid 6.5, and got a 7 from reading other reviews. The 7 fits perfectly, if not a smidgeeeee tight in the toes, but I'm sure it will expand with regular wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instantly comfortable These boots felt like slippers right out of the box. I may have shoveled extra because I loved them so much!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Daughter's Love! I brought this boot for my daughter that goes to school in Wisconsin and she loves them. She said they are not heavy and easy to walk in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best winter boots ever Perfect boots for cold, slushy winter weather. They are super comfy, easy to slide in and out without having to tie them every time and keep my feet nice and warm in single digit temperatures. I truly love these boots

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great boots These boots are great. I usually wear 9 but after reading reviews went up to 9.5 and I'm glad I did. Fits perfectly. It's warm and comfortable and doesn't feel too heavy. I love the look and everything about these boots. I definitely recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Sorel Boots These are my first pair of Sorel boots and they will not be my last. They are so comfortable to wear, and they keep my feet warm and dry. The fit is perfect and I will definitely recommend this boots to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Boot I work in the mountain community so excellent snow boots are essential to perform my job duties. These boots not only kept my feet warm but have excellent traction. I would recommended this boot over and over again all day long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my boots! I used to have a pair many years ago that actually had been stolen from me! I just purchased the women's Cumberland boot and I remember why my Sorels were my favorite boots! They are true to size for me and keep my feet very warm, which is wonderful since we have had a lot of cold, snowy days in Colorado this winter. I would recommend them to anyone. Cute, fashionable, but the main thing is they keep you warm and dry! I love my Sorels!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cumberland Cold Weather Boot! This is my second pair of these Wonderful long-lasting boots. My first pair finally gave out after 6 years of Winter wear. I use them on the farm and walk a lot. The brand new look goes away quickly because of the water, mud and debris that gets attached/ground in but the fit, comfort, and warmth stays with them. These are my favorite winter boots of all time! Please don't change a thing about them, thank you!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, once the sizing is right I read countless reviews, both on this site and others that sell Sorel, about sizing. I measured my foot the way they recommend. They said I should get a 9, I ordered a 9.5 and it was still way too small. I finally ended up a full size up at 10.5. Even then, they only fit with a medium-weight sock, which is fine because they're warm anyway. This boot is narrow, in the heel and over the mid-foot as well, which I like because they don't feel sloppy or bulky. There is just enough room for my long, skinny toes in the front, and my high arch is pretty happy too. Overall a great boot, but only if you have low-volume feet

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit! Just had a snow storm & realized I needed some boots! Heavy Duty in the snow and stylish enough I could rock them over jeans!..I'm all too happy to have read the previous comments and decided to get them a 1/2 size larger. Normally a 7 1/2 & got the 8, just in case they ran too small. They are true to size so the 7 1/2 probably would still have worked out, but I like my boots a lil roomier for heavier socks. They fit perfect around my ankles to shins, so I was able to tighten them up really good and still have plenty of lace left to double up!..comfy and cozy; also easy to flex ankles, so I don't even feel that I had to "break" them in. Wore them right out of the box! I'm definitely a fan!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I was skeptical about purchasing the boots. I purchased during the summer and opened the box last week to get ready for the storm. They kept my feet, ankle and lower calf completely dry. I went online and saw the same boots I purchased for $110. on sale for $69. I purchased another pair for myself in a different color and one for my daughter.....so worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots These boots were the perfect fit for a trip to Colorado. Although it didn't snow when I was actually there, it had snowed significantly and temperatures were in the teens and low 20s. My feet were never cold nor tired, after wearing them all day!
Date published: 2016-01-20
Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECT! These boots are no frills but exactly what I needed! I would disagree with other reviews stating they run small. I wear an 8.5 or 9 (depending on toe box) and ordered the 9. With a decent pair of socks, they're great! Waterproof, solid grip & rated -25F - what more do you really need in the Midwest!?
Date published: 2016-01-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from You need these boots. I bought this boot for my spring semester of college and it was the best decision I've made yet. I go to a large campus in Michigan and these boots are fantastic. My feet are warm, but not too warm to the point of overheating or sweating. They only took about a day or two to break in (about 3 miles of walking). I HIGHLY recommend these boots.
Date published: 2016-01-13
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm After reading the reviews of others I settle on purchasing one 1/2 size larger. I wear a 6 1/2 in a regular shoe and usually a 7 in a running shoe. The 7 had extra room everywhere except the toe area. That spot was snugger. Glad I didn't go with a 6 1/2 or the toe area would have been too tight. Very warm, feel a little bulky, not heavy feeling.
Date published: 2016-01-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my boots! Based on the prior reviews, I originally ordered a boot that was a full size larger than I usually wear, but they were too big. I exchanged them for a boot size that is 1/2 size larger than my usual size, and they are still roomy, but I wanted room for thick winter socks. They are just right!
Date published: 2016-01-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Winter boots I just got this boots. I wear a size 9. It fits perfect even with thick socks. So far they seem comfortable. Let's see if they are warm when we get snow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very frustrated I typically wear a size 9. I purchased boot in a size 9 1/2 to have room for a heavier sock. When I received boot it was too small so I paid to ship the boot back to get a size 10. Patrick at Sorel customer service was very helpful in sending out a Size 10, however I just received it and it is still too small. Out of stock in a 10 1/2 but will now need an 11. I am very frustrated at the sizing of this boot- I am a size 9 all day long and to have to size up 2 full sizes to get the boot to fit is ridiculous. Hopefully there is a size 11 in stock and the offer to pay for my return shipping is offered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Dry Firstly, these boots are great! I normally wear a size 8, but have a narrow foot. The size 8 is roomy making it comfortable to wear a heavy sock. I was able to test them immediately out of the box with a foot of snow, ice and slush. They are warm, waterproof, have great traction, and very comfortable—no breaking in period (I walked 1 mile with them on the first outing). I have small calves and the upper boot fits great, however if you have larger calves you may not be able to lace them all the way up without purchasing longer laces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love My Sorels Finally after too many years to count, (almost) wore out my zip Sorel boots and so purchased these. They feel fabulous on and I am expecting to wear these for years as well. Style, comfort, durability. What's not to like?!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Want warm, dry feet? Get it here! My story? Backpacker. Not always, however, now ... yes. Love and have Sorrel Cumberland, size 6 1/2 (which fit like a glove and have worn around town,on short walks, trail hikes). Not what one wants when hiking long distances with altitude gains and losses. Understand now what is then disired is 1 to 2 sizes larger to save the toes/toe nails. NEVER BOUGHT A SHOE BIGGER THAN MY FOOT (call it "too big") BEFORE IN MY LIFE! Did still want the warmth and comfort experienced from my size 6 1/2 Cumberland boots ... so bought a size 8. What a score! With the same, thick, wool socks ... and the perfect lace-up situation on the Sorrel Cumberland, my feet are SO HAPPY. No longer do the toes hit the front of the toe box when going down mountain sides for 4 hours at a wack! The heel sits beautifully where is should. Foot does not slide around. NO BLISTERS. Did not even need a "break in" hike. Put them on ... paid attention during the lace up... and off to the summit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots These were a great price. I am usually a size 8 or 8 1/2 but a size 9 fit perfectly. So I would suggest going up a size. They feel comfortable and warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product I bought this product for my daughter, she loved it. It was delivered in only 2 days, and it came as featured in the web site. We are very satisfied with the service and product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boot Reviews mentioned that the boots ran big. I'm a 8 1/2 and with thick socks, I wanted the boots to fit comfortably. A size 8 was too tight even with thin socks. A size 9 works, but is slightly large. I'd be happier with a 8 1/2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot! I had another pair of Sorel women's boots for many years, probably 10 or more. Easy to walk through heavy snow and slushy muck. Feet stay really dry and warm. They finally started wearing out, so I replaced them with the women's Cumberland boot. Can't wait to try them out back in Minnesota!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots I got theses boots for sledding. We had already put our sleds up for the summer, but drove up to the hills just to test them out they where wonderful. My feet stayed warm and dry the whole time and my feet did not feel weighed down by clunky boots. I will order another pair of these for my daughter couldn't be happier.
Date published: 2013-04-01
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy and Cozy I love these boots. They keep my toes toasty but aren't too cumbersome or heavy. I can't wait for the next snow season.
Date published: 2013-03-18
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Length fits well, ankle doesn't The foot part of the boot fits true to size. But the top, coming up the leg, isn't small enough to be laced tightly. Was hoping to be able to traipse through snow in these... I think I still can, but I might end up with a little snow in my boot on occasion. Not ideal. Boots are well constructed, have great traction, and are surprisingly lightweight and comfortable. As far as all-weather boots go, these are quite attractive as well. Overall: I will be keeping these and have enjoyed wearing them thus far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've finally gotten my Sorels! I've waited for years to find Sorels at the right price and I hit it just right! The 'Cumberlands' fit great, are warm and stylish, as well-just as advertised. I bought a size 8, which is my usual size for heavier footwear. I almost hate to say it but if another big snowstorm comes this way, I wouldn't be too unhappy-I'd get to show off my Sorels!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boot! I read the reviews and got a half size smaller as recommended; however, I thought it was a bit snug. I would've gotten my true size. Overall, great boot. Very warm, waterproof, and stylish1

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots! Highly recommend these boots to anyone who wants warm, dry feet during the cold, snowy winter months! They do fit slightly small, so I ordered 1/2 size up, and with heavy socks they have a snug fit around the arch of the foot, but the toes are comfortable, with room to wiggle. Would buy them again if I needed a new pair! Love these boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snow? Rain? Bring it on with my Cumberlands! Now these are some great rugged yet feminine boots for some very COLD weather. I bought the Joan of Arctic's to wear more for warm fashion but these? These are the ones I'll be pulling out to shovel snow, walk the dog on a cold rainy winter day, or any outdoor sport activity when it's brutal out. Opted for the turtle dove color because I'm more fashion focused than utilitarian look. I don't need any more winter waterproof warm boots in my closet. Thanks Sorel!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my boots! I had been searching for a pair of winter boots for quite some time, but couldn't justify spending over $200 on a pair of Uggs that I had also fallen in love with. These boots have everything I wanted and more! They are comfortable, warm and look good on the feet. My feet are very wide and I usually wear a size 8.5 for boots. I got a size 9 and there's still plenty of room for thick socks. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and with the low price, no other boots can beat it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice product we ordered these boots in a rush for a quick snowmobile trip that popped up my wife is more of a beach person so my friends told me to get these so she would be warm, we snowmobiled for 4 days in some cold weather and she was perfectly warm great quality product i have 2 teen age daughters and i will be getting them the same brand as well oh and shipping was extremely fast' Thanks Todd

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love them Based on others' reviews I ordered down half a size. The only little trouble I have right now is that the seam across the top of the foot is a bit tight--I don't have pudgy feet, and I'm not wearing thick socks. It should stretch out over time, though. I've had too many sloppy, clompy too-big snow boots; if I had to choose, I'd rather they were a little snug so I don't have to walk like a caveman. :) Enjoy! They're great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cumberland boots are rugged with a feminine flare These boots are rugged looking but the Sherpa trim girlies them up a bit. I haven't used them in the deep cold yet, but in the snow they are great and lighter weight than same style of 20 years ago. I got a half size larger than my normal size they fit perfect. Downside...these boots make my socks creep down to my arch, that's a nuisance.
